Wall lamp with diffused light. With a balanced blown opaline glass sphere on a fine brushed brass, chrome or black support. Polished brass as the item is not lacquered, naturally darkens.

Positioned between fine arts and design, Anastassiades’ work aims to provoke dialogue, participation and interaction. He creates objects that are minimal, utilitarian, and almost mundane, but full of vitality that one could not expect.

Michael Anastassiades’ design philosophy is to preserve the inherent qualities of materials. All its pieces are handmade and come in natural finishes, exposed to the elements, without protective lacquers, considering oxidation as part of a process, which adds to the patina of a piece, participating in its aesthetics, as an addition with time.

Anastassiades’ work appears in permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, among others.
